Sous le règne de Louis XIII, Jean Volay, célèbre cartier de Thiers, a créé ce jeu vers 1640. Ce jeu est au portrait d’Auvergne.
Réédité par Dusserre, d’aprés l’original conservé à la Bibliothèque Nationale, il garde le cachet exceptionnel de la gravure sur bois colorée au pochoir.

La Tige Mystique est un classique en Close-up ! 

Le magicien montre une tige avec des points en différent endroits; on la montre des deux côtés. Un spectateur choisit librement un nombre d'un à six. Le nombre que le spectaeur choisit est épelé pour arrivé à cette couleur (rouge). Une petite passe magique et toutes les taches changent en la couleur choisie ! C'est un tour idéal qui tient facilement dans la poche.

The Mystic Rod (or Hot Rod) is a classic in close-up magic. The magician shows a clear plastic rod with different color spots; this is shown on both sides. A spectator freely selects a number from one to six. The number the spectator chooses is counted to that spot and the color is remembered. The rod is given a wave and all of the spots change to the selected color! This is an ideal trick for walk around restaurant workers as well as being the perfect trick to introduce you to the world of magic. And it fits in your pocket too!
